History of TSS – 2000 - Present
2000: TSS business continues to expand now offering complete machine systems as well as
larger more complex machining capability. Name changed to TSS Technologies. Medical
Systems, Consumer Products and FAA Repair businesses continue to expand and the 1998
assembly facility is no longer adequate. Medical, Design Engineering and FAA repair were
moved to satellite facilities. Consumer Products Division assumed full capacity of
previously shared building.
2003: TSS begins the transformation of the company to industry focused business units:
Medical Division; Consumer and Industrial Products Division; Design and build Division; TSS
Packaging Division; High Volume Automotive Division. TSS internal machining is managed as
a cost center supporting the business units. TSS Aviation, Power and Marine operating as a
separate Sub “S” corporation. Design Engineering growth mandated their move into a
separate facility in the summer.
2005: TSS combines the Packaging, consumer products, and design build division into one
operating group (System Integration and Engineering Group). This move is to integrate the
companies three divisions that serve the custom capital equipment market into one cohesive
entity strengthening the companies overall capabilities. TSS China ltd. Established in
Xiamen, China providing machined parts from internal operations and sourcing. TSS Aviation,
Power and Marine division continues to grow and moves into a state of the art 150,000 sq ft
facility in Sharonville, Ohio.
2007: TSS combines the two assembly divisions (Medical Division and System Integration)
into one operating entity and moves to a 200,000 sqft facility in West Chester, Ohio. TSS
machining operations combined into one operating entity and transitioned to operate as a
profit center allowing TSS to have industry and capability focus. TSS sells its Engine
repair facility to Standard Aerospace of Canada and focuses on the growth of it’s two core
businesses Contract machining and complete system integration. Offering now includes very
broad contract machining services; production assembly; capital equipment assembly;
installation; service; mechanical and electrical design services; programming; process and
value engineering services; warehousing and logistics and complete test and validation
services.
2009: Bruce Read named President & COO of TSS Technologies. Under Mr. Reads leadership TSS
weathers the rough economic year and positions itself for record growth in 2010 with new
business opportunities.
